APPROACH
I believe the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is of utmost importance and is the basis of any healthy and productive therapeutic experience. My commitment to cultivating an environment of mutual understanding, trust, and core empathy underscores my firm belief that counseling can provide one of the most helpful means to addressing the emotional and social challenges facing us all.
My approach to therapy and counseling is based on a number of traditional practice methods--cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, existential--as well as innovative new therapies--mindfulness based stress reduction, play therapy, and deep listening modalities--all tailored to the needs of my individual clients.
I also incorporate a number of mind-body approaches to resolving emotional challenges, including practices from Yogic and Meditative traditions, to create an environment of exploration and healing, both within and outside of any formal, therapeutic environment.
The journey towards self-discovery, wellness, and healing entails constant evolution, a growing self knowledge, and a brimming awareness for therapist and client alike. This willingness to explore ourselves, in a safe, counseling setting, is at the core of my practice and has helped my clients make the best of their therapeutic experiences, always with an eye towards healing and resolving even the most challenging issues.
